The Anchor Holds

If you’ve ever traveled on a boat, ship or sailboat, you may have the first-hand experience of an anchor and it’s usage. Jesus is our Anchor  †(Hebrews 6:13-20) and that Anchor holds. There are numerous types of Anchors according to Wikipedia, the word of God doesn’t differentiate between anchor types. Jesus is referred to as an Anchor for our soul, That’s it ! The Anchor for every situation in our lives. So He is our stabilizer, our Rock, our firm foundation. He operates in many ways according to the circumstance we’re going through. As an excerpt from Wikipedia states about anchors… ‡Anchors achieve holding power either by “hooking” into the seabed, or sheer mass, or a combination of the two. Permanent moorings use large masses (commonly a block or slab of concrete) resting on the seabed…

Jesus is all of the above and much more, He is always holding and never wavering, He is the peace in the storm, the comfort of stability during trials and tribulations. Jesus never allows us to endure more than we can handle. Take solace in knowing He has you covered and anchored so you will not sink or be swept away.

He has made a permanent place for us in His kingdom by paying the penalty for our sins, all we have to do is accept it. Jesus gives us a gift that we do not deserve, one that we can not earn or be good enough to receive. He is gracious and pours out his unconditional love on us with the blood He shed at Calvary. #anchors ‡  #anchor for our soul †
